Orbea’s Kemen SUV 30 Electric Hybrid Bike is a highly well-featured alternative to the car for short errands and longer trips.

The step-thru style frame makes mounting and dismounting easier with the comfortable, upright position offering a great view over any traffic. Marzocchi’s Bomber Z2 fork has 100mm of bump-taming travel, perfect for light trail use or potholed streets. The wide, 29” Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres add grip and cushioning on and off-road.

Shimano’s 250W EP8 battery provides the power boost, paired with a 540Wh battery, allowing up to 5 hours of use from a single charge. Assistance is smooth and unobtrusive up to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph / 25 km/h, and powerful enough to negate any hills or heavy loads with ease. A rack rated for use with a child seat (up to 27kg), mudguards and very bright integrated lights make the Kemen an easy and convenient alternative to the car during the week, but also allow it to be used much further afield at the weekend.

Electric bike specific, Shimano’s Link Glide drivetrain is beefy enough to handle the hefty torque on tap, and gives a wide range of easily-accessed gears. Equally as important, Magura’s MT30 hydraulic disc brakes are powerful enough to make light work of the heaviest loads, providing reliable and consistent stopping power and control in all conditions.
